Environmental Management

To promote environmental management based on the Ricoh Group's management philosophy, environmental policy, and environmental strategy, our group has established and implemented an environmental management system (EMS) based on ISO14001 of the internationally recognized standard. In 2001, we acquired ISO14001 certification on a non-consolidated basis, and in 2014, we acquired integrated certification as the Ricoh Group.
The EMS Promotion System is headed by the General Manager of the Sustainability Promotion Office and consists of the managers of each business site and the committee members of each workplace.Environmental targets for the fiscal year are determined after repeated discussions by the Sustainability Committee, an advisory body to the president that meets once a quarter. In recent years, global environmental problems and the resulting changes in society have had a significant impact on our business. Accordingly, we analyze and grasp the business environment surrounding our group from the perspective of risks and opportunities, and make decisions on environmental management based on this awareness.
The EMS Promotion Committee, which meets once a year, verifies and evaluates the status of achievement of environmental targets, drafts new measures, and shares the latest environmental and sustainability information.
